August 27, 2009 – Pope John XXIII High School is one of the best private school values in the Massachusetts, according to Boston Magazine. The article ranks Pope John’s “small classes, student-to-teacher ratio, academic and extra-curricular offerings.”
Ranking was based on which schools deliver the “most academic bang for the buck,” “a sampling of what makes our schools great,” and “a good investment.” The “Best of Boston” authority selected Pope John as one of the top ranking affordable institutions in its Best High Schools edition and on its website feature, Best High Schools Public and Private – Our Exclusive Rankings, that posted September, 2009 on www.BostonMagazine.com.
Boston Magazine is known for its Best of Boston series and claims a publication of 500,000 issues per month, its percentage of newsstand copies sold is among the highest of any magazine of any kind in the United States, and it has named among the three best city magazines in the nation seven times in the last eight years by the City and Regional Magazine Association. Pope John XXIII High School was initially founded in 1966 by the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston and is currently affiliated under the Archdiocese of Boston.
