Dorothy Cusimano, 81
Active in Everett Politics

Dorothy A. (Feudo) Cusimano of Saugus died at home on August 31. She was 81 years old.
She was born in East Boston and was a lifelong resident of Everett before moving to Saugus one year ago. Very active in Everett politics, she was a retired shop steward in the garment industry and a member of the ILGWU.
The beloved mother of Gail D. Dotoli and her husband, Michael, of Saugus and Roger Cusimano and his wife, Vicci, of Palm Harbor, Florida, she was the sister of Anthony Feudo of Reading, Rudolph Feudo of Peabody, Hilda Fink of Florida and the late Peter, Vincent, Christopher and Gloria Ferullo; loving grandmother of Ralph Caracciolo of Everett, Kristen Caracciolo of Danvers and Michael and Daniel Cusimano of Florida.
Her Funeral will be held from the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main Street) Everett Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by her Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Broadway, Everett at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Eleanor Cataldo
Revere resident

Eleanor I. (Rossetti) Cataldo of Revere died on August 28.
She was the beloved wife of the late Albert W. Cataldo; devoted mother of Albert W. Cataldo Jr. of New Hampshire, Michael and wife, Sharon, of Revere, Debbie Cataldo-DiBattista and her husband, Tony, of Everett and the late Tommy Cataldo. She was the sister of four diseased siblings. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Christopher Cataldo, Diane Stockings, Lisa Chow, Donna Bungard, Donna DiBattista and great-grandchildren Zachary Gaulin, Emily and Lindsey Cataldo, Alexandra and Eleanor Chow and Gavin Bungard.
Her Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons - Bruno Funeral Home, Revere, today, Wednesday, September 2 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony’s Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.  Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Francis Lepere
Florida resident

Francis X. Lepere of Stuart, Florida, formerly of Melrose, died on August 26.
He was the beloved husband of Irene M. (Pare’) Lepere; loving father of Edward G. Lepere and his wife, Julie, of Las Vegas, Paul R. Lepere of Hampton Falls, NH, Gene W. Lepere and his wife, Denise, of Everett, Kenneth P. Lepere and his wife, Brenda, of Merrimac, NH, Mary I. Carlson and her husband, Mark, of Amherst, NH and the late Frances I. Lepere; father in law of Gail Lepere of Hampton Falls, NH; brother of the late Guissey Lepere, William Lepere, Rose Cellucci, Josephine Salani and Margaret Albertazzi. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral will be held from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 8:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Francis Church, 325 Cambridge St., Cambridge at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Palma “Pam” Furno of Saugus died on August 28.
She was the beloved wife of the late George Furno; sister of Frank Gagliardi and his wife, Ellie, of Revere, Esther Cataruzolo and her late husband, Frank, of Saugus, the late Dave Gagliardi, Gemma Carrabis and her husband, Anthony, and Dante Gagliardi and his wife, Florence; sister-in-law of Rae DiBlasio and the late Lillian and Anna Gagliardi. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Carmina DiVirgilio, 94
Retired seamstress

Carmina (Iocco) DiVirgilio of Saugus, a former longtime resident of Everett, died at home on August 27. She was 94 years old.
A retired seamstress, she was born in Italy and was the beloved wife of the late Raffaele DiVirgilio; dear and devoted mother of Antonio and his wife, Angelina, of Saugus, Donato and his wife, Maria, of Osogna, Italy, Nicolo and his wife, Maria, of Saugus and Alba “Bina” Pace and her late husband, Joseph, of Everett; sister of Pasquale D’Angelo of New Jersey, Fiorinto Iocco and Bina D’Angelo of New York and is also survived by 13 loving grandchildren and eight loving great grandchildren.

Marjorie ‘Marji’ Bertone, 77
Retired founder of Marji’s Florist and
Gift Shop of Everett

 Marjorie A. “Marji” (Pacillo) Bertone, a longtime resident of Reading, died on August 26 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. She was 77 years old.
She was the retired founder of Marji’s Florist and Gift Shop of Everett and a former member of the Everett Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club of Everett.
She was the beloved wife of more than 57 years of Mario Bertone; dear and devoted mother of Michele Bertone Bauer and her husband, Ed, of Myrtle Beach, Michael A. Bertone and his wife, Bernadette, of Reading and Marlene Zizza and her husband, Joseph, of Reading; loving sister of Lucy Carpanella of Reading, Mildred Murphy of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Gilda Tammaro and Dorothy DeVico of Reading, Anthony Pacillo of Winthrop and the late Emma Bosco, Michael Pacillo and Josephine Hadge; cherished Noni of Kristi O’Malley and her husband, Kevin, Michael A. Bertone, Jr. and his wife, Kristen, Jennifer Bertone, Zachary Zizza and Talia M. Zizza and Great-Noni of Ryan and Matthew O’Malley.

Patricia Norton, 61
Died of Lou Gehrig’s Disease

Patricia (Coppola) Norton of Hampton, NH,  formerly of Everett, died on August 23after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). She was 61 years old.
She was loved by all and the excitement and energy that she brought into every room will be missed. ALS robbed her of a lot but never robbed her of her positive spirit, her need to persevere, her sense of humor or her loving nature.
The daughter of the late Anna and Patsy Coppola, Jr., she was the loving mother of Benjamin Norton and his wife, Corina, and Jodi Norton, all of New Hampshire; loving sister of Anne Wakefield of Ohio, Emilie Coppola-Ciampa of Everett and Pat Coppola, lll of Bedford and is also survived by her love, John Xenakis, as well as many relatives and friends.

Francis Bernard Byrne, 81
Retired DOR Deputy Chief of Assessments

Francis Bernard Byrne of Newbury died at home on August 18. He was 81 years old.
A US Navy veteran of World War II, he was the retired Deputy Chief of Assessments for the Department of Revenue.
He was the husband of 26 years of Elaine A. (Perry) Byrne and the late Muriel I. (Joyce) Byrne; son of the late William and Hazel (Hunt) Byrne, father of Mary Byrne Smith and her husband, Ted, of Cape Elizabeth, ME, James Byrne and his wife, Nancy Dace, of Newburyport and Thomas Byrne and wife, Pam McKinney, of Boston; grandfather of five grandsons, Colin, Michael, Alex, Sean and William; step-father of Brian S. Bowzer and his wife, Leah, of Judson Beach, FL, Sheila L. Webber of Salisbury, Martha A. Bowzer of Salem, and Mark R. Bowzer of Newbury; brother of Joseph Byrne and his wife, Joan, of College Station, Texas; brother-in-law of Lucille Byrne of Everett, wife of the late William Byrne and Dorothy Joyce of Florida, wife of the late William Joyce and uncle of several nieces and nephews.

Rudolph ‘Rudy’ Bottaro
Retired Everett teacher

Rudolph V. “Rudy” Bottaro of Everett died on August 25.
A retired Everett School teacher, he was the beloved of husband of Mary M. (McCormick) with whom he shared 64 years of marriage; devoted father of Thomas of Everett and Linda and her husband, Bill Clark, of Saugus; brother of Yolanda Gonzales; grandfather of Brian and his wife, Elizabeth, and Julie and her husband, Richard, both of Rhode Island and is also survived by two great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were by the Murphy-O’Hara Funeral Home, Everett.  Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Helen Ryall, 101
Of Needham and Pennsylvania

Helen F. (Fleming) Ryall of Needham and Bedford, PA, died on August 22. She was 101 years old.
She was the beloved wife of the late Edward A. Ryall; daughter of the late Mary and Patrick J. Fleming; devoted mother of Robert E. Ryall and his wife, Jeanne, of Everett, Carolyn Baierlein and her husband, George, of Needham and Richard E. Ryall and his wife, Lesley, of Suffield, CT.; sister of the late Alice Tocci and Edward F. Fleming; cherished grandmother of Karen Mueller of Norwood, Karl Baierlein of Newton, Heidi Moriarty of Quincy, David Ryall of Wareham, Kristin Hope of Walpole, Mathew Ryall of Ashville, NC, Samantha Wood of Longmeadow, Chantal Ryall of Northampton and Gabrielle Ryall of Boston. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.

William Petricca
Chelsea resident

William J. “Bill” Petricca of Chelsea died on August 24.
A US Navy Seabees veteran of World War II, he was the beloved husband of 43 years of Regina L. (Cenga) Petricca; devoted father of Charles Gallagher and his wife, Jeanne, of Oklahoma, Regina Bellerose and her husband, David, of Maryland, John Gallagher and his wife, Maureen, of Beverly, Daniel Gallagher of Chelsea, Kathleen Murphy and her husband, Edmund, of Quincy, Joanne Aleo and her husband, Barry, of Tewksbury; dear brother of Frank, Daniel and Anthony Petricca, all of Everett, Carmella Shea of Lynn and Eleanor DeYeso of Saugus. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Ella Cox, 89
Worked at Sexton Can, 60 year member of
Mt. Bellingham United Methodist Church

Ella B. (Kelloway) Cox of Saugus, formerly of Everett, died on August 19 at the Elmhurst Nursing Care Center in Melrose after a short illness . She was 89 years old.
Born and educated in Salmon Cove, Newfoundland, she has been a resident of Everett for 57 years. A homemaker, she was also employed at Sexton Can Co. for 32 years from 1950 until 1982. She was a member of the Mt. Bellingham United Methodist Church and its Women’s Society for over 60 years.
She was the wife of the late Allen A. Cox; beloved mother of Ernest E. Cox and his wife, Deborah, and Sadie Mugford, all of Saugus; sister of the late Mark Kelloway, Moses Kelloway, Marion Murphy, Sadie Delaney, Gladys Taylor and Leonard Kelloway; sister in law of Emma Kelloway of Saugus and Mary Kelloway of Newfoundland, Canada. She is also lovingly survived by four grandchildren, Debra “Debbie” Surface and her husband, David, of Georgetown, Tammy Watts and her husband, Paul, Michele Kelley and her husband, Chucky, Mark Cox, all of Saugus, and five great grandchildren, Debra-Lee Surface of Georgetown, David Surface Jr. of Boston, Jody Kelley and Peter Watts, both of Saugus, Stephanie Kelley of Middleboro and several nieces and nephews.

Theresa V. Mastone, 91
Of Everett

Theresa V. Mastone of Everett, died August 29, 2009, at 91 years. Beloved Aunt of Maryann and Richard Walsh of Winter Garden, FL,  Joseph and Laurie Mastone of Tewksbury, Victor and Sharon  Mastone of Peabody, Joanne and Robert Mercier of Newry ,ME, Robert Toomey of Acton, and Marlene Gath of Tewksbury. She is also survived by many cherished  grandnieces and nephews, and great grandnieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a funeral from the J.F. Ward Funeral Home, 772 Broadway, Everett, on Saturday, Sept. 5th., at 9 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 770 Salem St., Malden, at 10AM.
