As the Wynn Boston Harbor service road trucks on to completion later this month, the new McDonald’s on Lower Broadway is also taking shape – with steel now rising out of the ground on the new, two-level restaurant.

The McDonald’s replaces the long-time existing McDonald’s that had to be moved in order to accommodate the Wynn and MBTA service road. Wynn had proposed straightening out the Beacham/Lower Broadway intersection, but in order to do that, the road travelled right through the center of the McDonald’s dining room. Through the purchase of an easement, Wynn took control of part of the site, demolished the McDonald’s and the new McDonald’s began construction about 100 yards to the north.

That will open up the area to a state-of-the-art new restaurant, said owner Jeff Brewster.

“We are excited to continue serving the Everett community by creating an even better experience for our customers and employees,” said Brewster, McDonald’s Owner/Operator. “Our new restaurant at Lower Broadway will offer a fresh look and feel that fits its vibrant new location, while still providing the quality food and value that McDonald’s is known for.”

The restaurant is currently moving quickly in the construction phase and is expected to open during the winter of 2017.

The new design includes a two-story restaurant with a split kitchen, meaning that there is a kitchen on both levels of the McDonald’s.

There will be around 50 seats on both levels, an elevator and digital menu boards.

There will also be self-ordering kiosks inside and side-by-side drive thru facilities.
