Wynn Boston Harbor is preparing to award construction bids in the next month worth at least $500 million and they’re spreading the word to local companies and vendors in order to keep the money local.

Bids have already been awarded on the project to Ferguson Neurdorf Glass for the hotel curtain wall; J. Derenzo Co. for site work; Trevi Icos for slurry walls; The Railroad Associates Corp. for a temporary railroad spur; Otis Elevator for elevator work; and Vynorius for pile driving.

Wynn Boston Harbor has been reaching out to local Chambers of Commerce and other groups, particularly to attract local businesses, minority-owned businesses, women-owned businesses and veteran-owned businesses to the upcoming bids.

“Wynn is absolute in our commitment to keep as much spending as possible close to home during our nearly three-year construction phase, particularly with minority, women and veteran-owned vendors,” said Bob DeSalvio, Wynn Boston Harbor president. “We really want local vendors and workers to step up and play a big role in building Wynn Boston Harbor.”

Bids that will go out soon on the casino project are BAS/Controls, Air handlers/chillers, electrical distribution equipment and structural steel. All of those bids are showing a mid-July award date.

Marine work and rock anchors are scheduled to be bid in July and awarded in late July and late August.
