Lena Cantone

Of Revere

Lena Cantone of Revere died on May 17.

The beloved  daughter of the late Felix and Anna (Galli) Cantone, she was the dear sister of the late Carmella Stuppia, Nicholas, Louie, George, Vincent, Victor and Andrew Cantone and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St, Revere on Thursday May 26 at 9 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass in St Anthony’s Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Rose Rezendes

Of Everett

Rose T. (DiCarlo) Rezendes of Everett entered into rest on Thursday, May 19 in the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. She was 91 years old. Rose was born in Boston and lived in Everett for most of her life. She was the beloved wife of Alvaro Rezendes for 63 years; dear and devoted mother of Alvaro M. Rezendes and his wife, Evelyn of Lynn and Robert J. Rezendes of Everett; sister of Mario DiCarlo of Saugus, Nikki Brogna of Everett, Josephine Barley of Everett and the late Joseph, Henry and Mary Ann DiCarlo; loving grandmother of Kristen Rezendes and Mark and his wife, Jessica Rezendes and the loving great-grandmother of Daniel, Ryan, Hannah and James Rezendes.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, Everett. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rose’s memory to Sawtelle Family Hospice House, c/o VNA of Middlesex-East, 607 North Ave., Ste. 17, Wakefield, MA 01880 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472 would be sincerely appreciated.

Richard Edward Woods

Of Maine, formerly of Everett

Richard Edward Woods of York Beach, Maine and a winter resident of Silver Springs, Florida died peacefully at home on May 15 surrounded by his loving family. He was 81 years old.

He was born in Everett on May 8, 1935 to Orin E. and Eileen M. (Bond) Woods.  He worked for many years for the City of Everett and then moved to Maine where he owned and operated the Tide’s In Restaurant  at York Beach for 11 years.  He was a charter and lifetime member of the York Elks Lodge #2788 and served as the Exalted Ruler from 2000 to 2001. He enjoyed being with his family and loved to play golf with his sons and friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Sally C. (Styles) Woods and his sister Patricia (Woods) Fino of Billerica.  He was predeceased by his brother, Orin E. Woods, Jr.. He was the loving father of Edward and his wife, Lori of Shapleigh; Nancy  (Woods) Taylor of York Beach and Robin D. Taylor of North Berwick, Walter  and his wife, Jennifer of York Beach,  William and his wife, Lila of West Barnstable, MA;  Gary and his partner, Rick Cosseboom of York  Beach and Michael and his wife, Jaye of Arundel. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and two great- granddaughters as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of his Life was held at St. Christopher’s Church, 4 Barrell Lane, York, Maine. Antoinetta Rossi

Active at St. Anthony’s Church

Antoinetta Rossi of Revere, formerly of Medford, died on May 18.

Antoinetta worked many years at Schrafft’s Candy in Charlestown and Brewster Wall Covering Company in Braintree. She was a very active parishioner of St Anthony’s Church and enjoyed playing Bingo. She was a friend to many and will be missed by all.

The beloved daughter of the late Michael and Rosina (Paoletta), she was the dear sister of the late Phyllis, Josephine, Esther, Lucy, Vera and Albert and is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
