Carol Swanson

Of Stoneham, formerly of Revere

Carol R. (Zaccone) Swanson of Stoneham, formerly of Revere, passed away May 2. She was 77 years old.

The beloved wife of Otto Swanson with whom she shared 55 years of marriage, she was the cherished daughter of the late Fortunato and Caroline (DeLuca) Zaccone; dear sister of Lorraine Lewis of Saugus, Richard Zaccone of Florida and the late Paul Zaccone; loving aunt of Karen Alexander, Loren Miccichi, Richard  and Christian Zaccone.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Vazza’s “Beechwood” Funeral Home, Revere.  Interment was in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. Donald Dennis Cameron

Longtime custodian at Shute Memorial Library in Everett; Past President of the Lions Club

Donald Dennis Cameron of Dracut died Saturday, May 7 at D’Youville Manor Senior Care Center in Lowell with his family by his side. He was 81 years old.

The beloved husband of Ann M. (Cavanaugh) Cameron with whom he spent 32 happy years of marriage, he was born in Everett  on July 24, 1934,  one of four sons born to the late Mary (Hines) Cameron and David A. Cameron. He received his education at Everett Vocational High School and later served proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

For many years, Donald worked as a custodian at Shute Memorial Library in Everett. He was a craftsman who enjoyed wood working, carving, and painting, skills he shared throughout his life. He was also a dedicated member and past president of the Lions Club. Donald was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed spending time in the woods, whether it be hiking or admiring the beauty of the forest. He was a dedicated, loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed and often remembered by the those who loved him.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Ann; six children: Monica Cameron of California, Michael Cameron and his wife, Diana of Lynn, Christopher Cameron of Conway, NH, Beth Cameron and her husband, Steven Spain of Wilmington, NC, Timothy Cameron of San Francisco, CA and Mark Cameron and his wife, Lisa of Middleton; nine grandchildren: Nicole, Joshua, Christopher, Stephen, Tyler, Alex, and Micayla Cameron and Jeanne and James Spain; his brother, Ronald Cameron and his wife, Jane; sister-in-law, Vera Cameron, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, David and George Cameron.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at D’Youville Senior Care for the kindness and compassion they showed to Donald during his time there.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, May 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Dracut Funeral Home,  2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut. His funeral will be held from the funeral home at 7:45 a.m. Friday, May 13 with his Funeral Mass to follow at St. Francis Church in Dracut at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Dracut. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Donald’s name to D’Youville Senior Care Center 981 Varnum Avenue, Lowell, MA 01854 or to the Community Family Adult Day Care Center, 236 Broadway Street, Lowell, MA 01854.
