Everett Recreation taking applications

The Everett Recreation Department is now accepting registration for the winter 2015 schedule and youth winter league basketball. Programs accommodate all ages from toddlers to adults, both male and female, and are a great way to meet new people and stay in shape during the winter season.

Programs include toddler playgroups, children’s art programs, youth boxing, fitness programs, senior men’s basketball, and much more. Registration, payment, and program information are available at www.EVERETTREC.com.

Sharps take back days in December

Mayor Carlo DeMaria and the Everett Health Department would like to announce that the City will be having two sharps take back days. As a reminder as of July 1, 2012 medical waste regulations do not allow the disposal of sharps in household garbage.

Residents will be able to bring their used sharps in a sharps container to the Everett Health Department for proper disposal. The two sharps take back days will be Monday, December 15th and Monday, December 22nd from 8:00AM to 7:00PM in the Everett Health Department, City Hall, 484 Broadway, Room 20.

Also the Everett Health Department does have a limited number of small sharps containers that can replace the full sharps container that you bring in.
