Veterans Day Ceremony Monday at the Armory: Annual Event to Honor City’s Veterans Starts at 10 a.m.

Everett Veterans Director Joseph Hickey this week announced the schedule for the 2013 Veterans Day Ceremony, which will be held on Monday, November 11 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Everett Armory at 90 Chelsea Street.

The annual Veterans Day ceremony will include greetings and remarks from local elected and school officials, key speeches from US Coast Guard Lieutenant Anthony Carli and US Navy (Retired) Christopher Bencal, as well as a presentation by EHS Student Jacqueline Storm, who will be introduced by Superintendent of Schools Frederick Foresteire.

Among the local elected officials that have confirmed their attendance are: Mayor Carlo DeMaria, Senator Sal DiDomenico, State Representative Wayne Matewsky, Aldermanic President Sal Sachetta, Council President John Leo McKinnon and Vice Chairman of the School Committee Frank Parker

The Everett High School Marching Band will honor local veterans by playing the military hymns of each branch.

Special recognition will also be made to Everett veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.

Afterward a dinner will be provided to local veterans and their families in the Armory Hall.
