Stephen Smith, former state representative for Everett, was sentenced to four months in prison for voter fraud Tuesday in U.S. District Court.
Smith, 57, will also serve a year of probation and must pay a $20,000 fine.
Smith pleaded guilty to two civil rights misdemeanor counts of voter fraud in December. He resigned from his position as state representative.
Smith is scheduled to report to prison on May 21.
