We want to join the community in congratulating the leaders of our committee and boards who were installed Monday night: School Committe chairman Allen Panarese and vice chairman Frank Parker; Common Council president John Leo McKinnon and Board of Aldermen president Sal Sachetta.
The latter elections were of course historic as this will be the last year of the current bi-cameral form of city government.
We know the leaders of the Common Council and Board of Aldermen will continue their dedicated efforts in the next year as Everett turns a page in the city’s history and moves to a single legislative body in 2014.
We also want to wish the School Committee good luck as they join with Superintendent of Schools Frederick Foresteire in continuing the great work and outstanding progress that has been made in our school system for the benefit of all of our students.
