Ida H. (Solomon) Shuman died on December 27. She was 887 years old.
Born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Philip Solomon and Bessie (Glassman), she was a native of Revere but lived in Everett for 32 years. She was educated in Chelsea Schools, graduated from Chelsea High School and enlisted in the US Army in 1949. She served our country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1951.

She was the beloved wife of the late William Shuman; devoted mother of Marc M. Shuman of Melrose; loving Aunt of Michael and Marjorie Solomon of Winthrop; sister of the late Sylvia Solomon; loving cousin of Adele Forosisky and family of Revere and the loving grandmother of William Ahearn.

Ellen B. (Powers) Risteen of Everett died on December 26.

Mrs. Di Benedetto worked side by side with her beloved husband of 48 years, Philip in their family owned businesses while always adoring her children and grandchildren. She was also a member since 1964 of the Orsogna Womens Club.

Eleanor G. (Imbriano) Colarusso of Malden, formerly a life-long resident of the North End, died on December 23. She was 101 years old.
She was the beloved wife of the late Frank A. Colarusso; devoted mother of Anthony Colarusso of Naples, FL, Phyllis Giove and her husband, Edmund of Everett, and Mimi Chiesa of Delray Beach, FL; loving sister of Anna Amaru, Louise Malatesta, and Peggy Caso; adored grandmother of nine, great-grandmother of 17 and great-great-grandmother of three and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Marie Colarusso, her son-in-law, Louis Chiesa, as well as eight siblings.

Margaret A. (Walsh) Comeau of Melrose died on December 25.

Kenneth M. Fisher died on December 24 at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen, NH. He was 78 years old.
Born in Boston, Ken grew up in Everett, the son of the late Royden and Flora Fisher. He graduated Everett High School, Bentley College and Suffolk University. After school ,he joined the U.S Army serving during the Korean War. He worked in Accounting.
He is survived by one sister, Marie Tyler of Concord, NH, several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Allan Fisher. A memorial service will be held in the spring at the Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, N.H.
Sylvia (Slotnick)Klein of Everett entered into eternal rest on December 25. She was 81 years old.
She was the beloved mother of Arthur and his wife, Doreen Klein and Jed Klein; adored grandmother of Michael Klein and Marissa Klein and loving sister of William Slotnick.

Etta (Dunstan) Davis of Everett passed away on December 16 at the Sherrill House in Boston. She was 85 years old.
She was born on July 31, 1927 in Windsor, NC one of five children of the late Joseph and Etta (King) Dunston. Etta graduated from Northeastern University with a BS in Nursing. She worked for many years at the Deaconess Hospital in Boston. Etta was a member the Emmanuel Baptist Church family and she was a member of the choir.
She was the beloved wife of the late Jesse Davis and the loving mother of Vanessa Davis and Linda Davis, both of Worcester, Marilyn Watkins of Wilmington, Joseph Davis of Everett and the late James King; sister of Maryland Mobley of New Jersey and the late Emmanuel King, Amazie McCain, and Joseph Dunston. She was the grandmother of seven and great grandmother of 11 and is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.

Left an Idelible Heart Print on So Many
Helene Nigro-Shepard, died peacefully with her adoring family by her side on December 15. She was 39 years old.
Since she was a teenager, Helene helped shape the lives of children entrusted to her in her work as a babysitter and day care provider. She left an indelible heart print on so many.
She recently she moved to Salem after living in Virginia for 10 years. Helene grew up in Everett and married her high school sweetheart. She was the beloved wife of Frederick and extraordinary mother to Harley, Frederick, and Brady, the loving daughter of Joseph W. and Ann M. Nigro and special daughter-in-law to Charlotte and Donald Shepard. Helene was the cherished sister of Kelly Doherty of Everett, Joseph III and his wife, Barbara of Salem, Shannon Amsler and her husband, Joe of Lexington, Erin Straticos and her husband, Jimmy of Everett and John and his wife Gina of Melrose. She was the admired sister-in-law of Roxanne Shepard, Tommy Doherty and Maria Freni and faithful and best friend of Karen Sears and Chrissy Mojica. She was the idolized aunt to 14 nieces and nephews and she was treasured by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Alexis D “Lexii” Hightower passed away unexpectedly on December 20. She was 35 years old.
Born in Boston, the beloved daughter of Patricia A. Hightower-Moreno of Chelsea and the late Samuel A. Moreno, she was raised in Chelsea, attended Chelsea public schools and graduated from Chelsea High School in 1995. After high school, Lexii attended classes for fashion design at Bay State College in Boston. For the last several years, she worked as an education instructor of new employees at ShoeBuy.com in Boston. Lexii enjoyed life, loved spending time with her family and friends and was a kind, loving young woman. She enjoyed party and event planning so she dedicated spare time to her side business, Lexii’s Party Planning. Her business helped sponsor the Chelsea Youth Basketball League. She also helped plan events for SoulKore Productions in Boston and was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Chelsea.
Lexii was a dedicated mother, loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was compassionate and always willing to help others and will be greatly missed by all.
The devoted mother of Jaysen Hightower of Chelsea, she was the loving sister of John P. Bruttaniti of Lynn, Jason S. Hightower of Saugus, Jasmine A. Hightower of Chelsea, Austin R. Hightower of Dartmouth, Samira P. Hightower of Chelsea and the late Samuel A. McLure and is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

Concetta Maria “Tina” D’Angelo
December 4, 1925 – December 22 , 2012
Concetta M. D’Angelo passed away at her North Andover home surrounded by her loving family on December 22.She was born on December 4, 1925, in Orsogna, Italy to Vincenzo and Maria D’Angelo and immigrated to the United States with her father in 1938, after the death of her mother, settling in Everett.
Concetta had only her father when she came to this country 73 years ago. Her driving desire was to build a family and transfer her love based values and traditions to her immediate and extended family. She and Joseph moved to North Andover in 1968 where she continued to extend her love to her neighbors and friends.
She was a lifetime member of the Orsogna Womens Club in Everett, serving as treasurer for many years. She was a certified infant cuddler, volunteering her time at the Lawrence General Hospital in the newborn I.C.U. She also volunteered at the North Andover Thrift Shop, only taking time off during the winter months when she and husband, Joseph would spend time in Davie, Florida, entertaining a host of friends and relatives around her southern table.
She was happiest when her family and friends where at her home around her table enjoying her magnificent meals with lots of conversation and laughter. She will be sadly missed, but we take solace knowing that she resides in all of us through the values she transferred.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 66 years, Joseph, and their children James and his wife, Linda (Kahn) of North Andover, Joseph and his wife, Kathleen (Skerry) of Middleton, and Marylinda and her husband, Michael O’Grady of North Andover. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Joseph D’Angelo and his wife, Sarah, Matthew D’Angelo and his wife, Angela, Kristina Monk and her husband, Robert, David and his companion, Ashley Lwowski, and Laura D’Angelo, all who affectionately called her Mimi. She also leaves three great-grandchildren, Christopher, Samantha and Madeline D’Angelo.
The family extends special thanks to Beacon Hospice and Fireside Home Health Services who helped care for her at home.

Placida (Rivero-Ruiz) Hagopian of Revere died on December 22 at the Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett. She was 80 years old.
Born in Montijo, Spain, the daughter of the late Brijdo and Elvira Rivero-Ruiz, she was the beloved wife of Sam; devoted mother of Victoria Rose of Revere, Samuel Paul Hagopian and his wife, Maryann of Everett; loving grandmother of Jennifer DeRose; great grandmother of Sarah and Joseph Baker and is also survived by four sisters and many nieces and nephews, all in Spain.

Joseph V. Costa of Peabody, formerly of Everett, died at Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Peabody on December 22. He was 100 years old.
Born in Italy and a longtime resident of Everett before moving to Peabody, he was a retired presser in the clothing industry, a member of Amalgamated Garment Worker’s Union and the Everett Knights of Columbus, Council #97. Joe was socially active at the Peabody Senior Center and the Connolly Center in Everett.
He was the beloved husband of the late Ida T. (Tamburino); father of Joseph Costa of Everett; brother of Phyllis Kasiecki of Medford, Josephine Grasso of Indiana, and the late Vincent Costa; grandfather of Robin Costa of South Boston and Jodi Costa of New Jersey and great-grandfather of Jada Albasi of New Jersey; loving uncle of Lisa A. Salvatore Saporito of Everett died on December 19 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. He was 95 years old.
Born in Riesi, Sicily, Italy and an Everett resident for many years, he was a retired factory worker for Hub Paper Box Company and a long time member of the St. Joseph Society in Boston.
