On Monday, December 17 members of the Everett Fire Department, under the leadership and tutelage of firefighter Stephen Bruce, organized, created and delivered 100 Holiday food baskets for local Everett families. The food baskets, once filled, were available for pickup by the pre-identified families.
“We enjoy helping out the community, but especially during this holiday season,” explained Everett Firefighters Union President Craig Hardy of IAFF Local 143. “This effort allows these families to enjoy a nice Christmas Dinner on us. We team up with Stop and Shop every year and do this wonderful thing for our needy families.”
According to Hardy, this year our local donated $1500.00 and Stop and Shop donated $1200.00 to make the effort a success.
“I cannot emphasize enough how firefighter Bruce dedicates countless hours to make this great event happen,” continued Hardy. “We’ve been doing this for a long time, but it’s because of his passion to help out the citizens of Everett, that this project is such a success.”
