Angelo ‘Pip’ Giangregorio

Everett Firefighter, Decorated Veteran

Angelo “Pip” Giangregorio of Everett died at home on June 5. He was 90 years old.

“Pip” was one of four children of the late Ignatius and Theresa (D’Agnostino). He was born on December 1, 1921 in Everett where he was raised and educated.

He served his country in the US Navy on the cruiser USS Columbia in the South Pacific during World War II and received the distinguished Purple Heart with 12 Battle Stars.

A firefighter for the City of Everett, after retiring from the Fire Department, he worked in his own business in trucking and plumbing. He was past president of the Swan Street Rats and a member of the VFW Post 1272 of Belmont.

“Pip” was a devoted family man and shared his life with his beloved wife Josephine (Dalfino) who predeceased him.

He was the loving father of “Iggy” a retired Everett High School physics teacher and his wife, Diane of Naples, Florida, Francis, a retired deputy sheriff and his wife, Pamela of Everett, Cheryl a radiologic technologist and her husband, Raymond Perks of Wakefield and the late, Carole Petto. He was the father–in-law of Ralph Petto of Saugus; the brother of Anna Marie Esposito of New York and the late Concetta “Connie” Puorro and Michael.

He was the adored grandfather of Jessie and Angela Perks, Nicole, Meghan, Eric, Francis Jr. and Nicholas Giangregorio, and Gregory Petto and great grandfather of Mackenzie, Hannah, Trevor, Tessa and Genevieve.

Herb Reed

Founder of The Platters, Members of Rock & Roll and Grammy Halls of Fame

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, June 26 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Regent Theater, 7 Medford St., Arlington Center for Herb (Herbert A. Reed) international entertainer and founder of Herb Reed’s Platters who died on Monday, June 4 at Kaplan Family Hospice of Danvers following a long period of declining health. He was 83 years old.

He was the beloved father of Herbert A. Reed, Jr. of Arizona; grandfather of Amir and Blair Reed, also of Arizona; brother of the late: Gracie Mamie Reed, Leon, Gene and Julius Reed and Caroline Viola Reed. He is also lovingly survived by his extended musical family: Billie Cox of Lynn, Wayne Miller of Everett, Angela Allen of Randolph, Efrain “Frank” Pizarro of New York City, Frederick J. Balboni, Jr. and family of West Peabody, Michael Larson of Hyde Park and Dan and Lori Norris of Salem, NH. Herb also leaves a large extended biological family of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins in Kansas City, Missouri.

His Funeral Service will follow at the Regent Theater at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Cemetery, West Peabody. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to: Mass. Rita V. (Robitaille) Vacca of Everett died on June 4. She was the beloved wife of the late Herman “Hum”; mother of Frank of Switzerland, Ronald and his wife, Sylvia and Valerie Vacca Fournier, all of Everett; sister of Ernest Robitaille of Concord, NH, the late Raymond Robitaille, Eugene Robitaille and Mary Vaters. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia M. ( O’Brien ) O’Leary of Malden died on June 5.

She was the beloved wife of the late John J. O’Leary with whom she shared 20 years of marriage; loving mother of Michael P. O’Leary and his friend, Cory Wilson and Robert S. O’Leary, all of Melrose, John F. O’Leary and his wife, Debora of Malden and Charlene O’Leary of Everett and her late friend, Jeffrey Halloran; dear sister of John O’Brien of New Hampshire and Rita Lincoln of Everett.

Retired Food Preparer

Carmella (Caturano) Dragani of Amesbury, a former long time resident of Revere and Everett, died on June 6. She was 87 years old.

A food preparer, she worked for the Revere Public Schools and the Revere Memorial Hospital and retired from the Marriott.She was the beloved wife of the late Rocco Dragani; devoted mother of Colette Molineaux and her husband, Jim of Dalton, Marianne Draper and her husband, Pat of Amesbury, Roger Dragani and his wife, Debbie of Peabody, Edward Dragani and his wife, Kateri of Salisbury and is also survived by Nicolette Luti and her husband, James of Saugus and Roberta Burke and her husband, Joe of Randolph; dear sister of the late James Caturano, Filomena Cionti, Margaret Raymond and Joseph Caturano; cherished grandmother of Heather Kokinacis, Patrick Draper, Sheri and Michelle Molineaux, Roger Jr., Nathan, Tabitha , Amanda, Olivia, Eddie Jr. and Aidan Dragani. She was the great-grandmother of eight and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Richard A. Colarusso of Everett died on June 9. The beloved husband of the late Angela L. (Paulo), he was the loving father of Donna Nasta and her husband, Joe of Andover, Angela Colarusso, Debbie Young and her husband, Richard and Richard Colarusso and his wife, Julie, all of Tewksbury; loving brother of Anthony and Albert Colarusso and the late Joseph and Angie Lunney. He is survived by his six loving grandchildren Joseph, Maria, Gina, Ashley, Richie and Briana and one great grandchild, Lexii.
