Common Council Has Quiet Meeting Monday Night

Common Councilors unanimously voted to send former police officer Michael Marchese’s home rule petition to receive 100% disability pension to the state legislature for its approval.

The matter generated very little debate on Monday night as the Councilors heard that Marchese who was injured while on duty in 2007 has undergone 14 operations to address his injury without success.   Presently, Marchese receives 72% of his salary. And for the record, this is not the same Michael Marchese who serves as President of the Board of Aldermen.
