Mayor Carlo DeMaria has performed a bit of magic during his terms in office.
The contentiousness at city hall that was so much a part of the city’s political persona in years past appears to have vanished.
Perhaps this is due to DeMaria’s affability or is it his ability to make friends instead of enemies that is leading him on?
Part of it is the times – they are difficult – and so there aren’t many options.
In all, he’s calmed things down. He’s established himself as the boss.
He’s doing a nice job of running the city.
