Everett High speedster Ian Syblis sprinted to victory in the 200 meter dash in a personal record (PR) time of 22.7 to capture the Greater Boston League title in that event last Thursday at the GBL’s all league meet at Dilboy Field.

“Ian ran a great race,” said EHS head coach Shelanda Irish. “He ran a great first 100 and then ran the turn well.”

Crimson Tide teammate Dom Mucci also brought home a ribbon in the 200 with a fourth place finish in 23.8, which also was a PR for Dom.

Everett also had two ribbon winners in the 400 meter run with Pete DuPerier taking third in 51.3 and David Lima grabbing fourth in a PR of 51.9; in the shotput with Cody Dingman snaring third with a toss of 37-7.5 and Ricardo Perez sixth with his heave of 31-3.5; and in the discus with Kenneth Bailey taking second with a throw of 118-4 and Dexter Dowe right behind in third with a toss of 115-7.

Three Crimson Tide javelin performers scored points for their team in the javelin, led by Ryan Canillas with a PR throw of 132-4, good for second place; David Plunkett in fifth with a toss of 105-11; and Cory Kidd with a chuck of 1-2-6 for sixth spot.
