A State Police and Middlesex County District Attorney’s investigation into the death of a 72 year old Everett woman is underway.
Everett Police said they would have nothing to say about the investigation because it is ongoing.
We know this: 72 year-old Carol Whyte was found dead in her 98 Lynn Street home, apparently by a Meals on Wheels Volunteer.
The volunteer told police she found Whyte’s body lying on the floor of her kitchen in a pool of blood, according to police.
There was apparently some question about whether she fell or was the victim of a bloody attack.
Neighbors who wished to remain unnamed said Whyte was known to them and that she could be contentious and difficult at times.
Police investigators from the DA’s homicide unit are trying to determine when Whyte died.
They are also seeking information about who last saw her alive before she was discovered dead in kitchen Monday afternoon.
