Joseph Arsenault

Retired MIT Maintenance employee

Joseph W. Arsenault of Everett died at the Epoch Senior Health Care in Melrose on December 5. He was 91 years old.

A US Army veteran of World War II, he was born in Boston, the son of the late Joseph W. and Bella (Arsenault and step son of Emma (Doiron) Arsenault. He lived in Everett for most of his life and was a retired former MIT maintenance employee.

He was the beloved husband of Helen G. (Hone); devoted father of Carol Breeding and her husband, Fred, of Haverhille, Susan Penney and her husband, Albert, of Revere, Janis Critch and her husband, Cliff, of Billerica and the late Brian; dear brother of the late Joseph C. and is also survived by three loving grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

His funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere, on Thursday, December 10 at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Everett, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are today, Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Vincent Napoli

Retired Tile Setter

Vincent J. Napoli of Revere, formerly of Everett, died at the Don Orione Nursing Center on December 6. He was 90 years old.

A retired tile setter, he was a US Army veteran of World War II. Born in Boston and raised in Everett, he moved to Revere after his marriage to the late Catherine (D’Arco) Napoli.

He was the devoted father of Emanuel and his wife, Maria, of Lynnfield, Vincent A. of Everett and Mary Napoli of Revere; dear brother of Catherine Abate of New Hampshire, Jean Ward of Norwood, Nora Fiore of Everett and the late Nancy Cuhna, Salvatore Napoli and Domenic Napoli. He is also survived by seven loving grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Maria Brogna

Of Avellino, Italy

Maria Brogna of Avellino, Italy died on December 5. 

She was the beloved wife of the late Felice; mother of Assunta Sementa of North Reading, Antonio Pisano of Stoneham and the late Guisseppe Pisano.  She was the sister of eight late siblings and is survived by eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. 

Her Funeral will be held from the Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main Street, Everett, today, Wednesday, December 9 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony Church, Everett at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Burial will be Holy Cross Cemetery.

Michael H. Bonacorso of Stoneham died on December 6. He was 86 years old.

Jane Elizabeth Jones

Everett resident

Jane Elizabeth Jones of Everett died on November 28 after a long battle with cancer.

The beloved partner of 16 years to Trish Sauer who was at her side at the time of her death, she was the cherished sister of Cathy Mellor and her husband, Edward, of Somerville, Lenetta Ruggiero and her husband, Richard, of Wilmington, Norma Jones of Everett, Spencer Jones of Melrose, Neal Jones and his wife, Jean, of Tewksbury, David Jones and his wife, Diane, of Westbrook, ME, and Joseph Jones and his wife, Jean, of Waltham, and the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Robert C. “Bob” Downey of Everett died on December 3.

The beloved husband of Frances (Pitari), he was the loving father of Robert C. Downey, Jr. of Everett and the late Carla; loving brother of Joseph Downey of New Mexico, Daniel of New Hampshire, Nora Flagg of Plymouth, Joan Downey of Cape Cod, Mary Downey of Brockton and the late John. He is survived by one loving grandson, Jonathan Downey.

Miriam (Horovitz) Levine of Milton died on December 1.

She was the beloved wife of the late Marcus Levine; devoted mother of Raymond Levine and his wife, Joanne, of Cambridge and Susan Levine and her husband, Edward DeYeso, of Florida; loving sister of Helen Popkin of Everett and the late Pearl MacKenzie; dear grandmother of Nathan and Benjamin.

Vincent Vozzo

Avid New England Sports Fan

Vincent J. Vozzo, a lifelong resident of Everett, died on December 3 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was 60 years old.

An avid New England sports fan, he was born in Malden and had been an estimating manager for printing companies.

He was the former husband of 28 years of Patricia (Smith) Vozzo; the dear and devoted father of Keri L. Pizzano and her husband, Dayl, of Dracut and Amanda L. Vozzo of Dracut; son of the late Victor Vozzo and Edith E. (Saladino) and step-son of the late Evelyn Vozzo; brother of Victor C. Vozzo, Jr. and his wife, Brenda, of Spring, TX, James Visconti and his wife, Patti, of Burlington, and Jean Mattuchio and her husband, Carmen, of Winchester; loving grandfather of Zachary and Haley Pizzano and loving companion of Elise Fisher of Everett.

Rita A. (Procopio) Perez of Boston died on November 30. She was 71 years old.

She was the loving mother of Anthony Perez and his wife, Dena, of Saugus and Philip Perez and his wife, Rhonda, of Revere; cherished aunt of Ronnie Riccioli of Everett; sister of Marie Gizzi, and the late Carmella Contrado, Stella Riccioli, and Dominic Procopio; and the dear aunt of many other nieces and nephews.

Angelina Avallone

Electronic Corporation of America retiree

Angelina H. (Bruno) Avallone died in Revere on December 1. She was 97 years old.

A retiree of the Electronic Corporation of America, she was the wife of the late John A.; beloved mother of John A. Avallone, Jr. of Revere and Edwina F. LaBrecque of Peabody; cherished grandmother of Sean L. LaBrecque of Las Vegas, NV and the late John A. Avallone III. She is also lovingly survived by her friend and daughter-in-law, Elaine Avallone of Revere, her great grandchildren, Thomas and Nicole Keefe and their mother, Colleen Keefe, all of Everett, and her longtime canine companion “Buddy.”

Lucy Vaughn

Lucy M. (Celata) Vaughn of Everett died on December 3.

She was the beloved wife of William; devoted mother of William and his wife, Laureen Vaughn; cherished grandmother of Ashley and Jillian.

John Migliaccio

Retired US Air Force Master Sergeant

John P. Migliaccio of Pocasset died November 29. He was 79 years old.

Born in Woburn and raised in Everett, he was the son of the late Dominic and Eleonora (Pellegrini) Migliaccio. After graduating from Everett High School, he joined the US Air Force and served 24 years, stationed in places such as Morocco, Korea and Alaska. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service. In 1973, he retired as a Master Sergeant.

Following his retirement from the Air Force, he worked for Cape Cod Gas Company for 22 years. He was a member of the Air Force Sergeant’s Association and American Legion Post 188 in Sandwich. He enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends, especially when he hosted his Labor Day Weekend Clam Bake. Renowned for his attention-to-detail, combined with years of having been a First Sergeant, he put his family through their paces as he made certain the myriad preparations would guarantee a great time for all. Sgt. Mig would not have had it any other way!

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Eleanor (Oliver) Migliaccio and their five children: Ellen and her husband, Robert Hammond, of Pocasset, John Migliaccio of Bourne, Lenore Migliaccio of Framingham, Nora and her husband, Raymond Glass, of North Falmouth, and Robert and his wife, Emily Migliaccio, of North Falmouth; seven grandchildren, Anthony, Jarell, Janine, Gina, Nora, Lyvia and Dante, and one great granddaughter, Mia. He was the brother of the late Mary DeMaso.

Joseph McDonald

Everett resident

Joseph K. McDonald of Everett, formerly of Somerville, died on November 29.

He was the beloved fiance of Mary Bacci; father of Matthew and Shauntai, both of Medford, and the late Sean; son of the late Joseph and Laura; brother of Denise Forrest of Peabody, Edward of New Hampshire, Laura Higgins of Somerville, and the late John; former husband of Deborah (Hunter) and is also survived by nieces and nephews.

George Harris

Retired bank administrator

George H. Harris of Watertown died on November 29.

Mr. Harris, a son of Amos M. and Mildred (Goodchild) Harris, was born in Everett. He was a graduate of Everett High School and of Bentley College. During World War II, he served in the US Navy aboard LST 568, and received the Asiatic-Pacific Area Medal with three stars and the Philippine Liberation Medal with two stars.

His professional career with the Federal Reserve Bank spanned 34 years when he retired in 1984.

A Watertown resident for 38 years, he enjoyed his retirement years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing the Fresh Pond Course in Cambridge and a former long-time member of the Lexington Pops Chorus.

He was the beloved husband for 52 years of Carol (Flynn); dear brother of the late Albert and William Harris and Mildred Greene and is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Nancy A. (Tomaino) Leva of Everett, formerly of Cambridge, died on November 29.
