Arthur Dotoli Jr.

MIT Labs retiree, member BPOE Elks

Arthur F. Dotoli Jr., a longtime resident of Melrose, died at the Sawtelle Family Hospice in Reading on November 8. He was 78 years old.

Born in Everett, he was a retired planner in research and development at MIT Labs and a member of the Saugus-Everett Lodge of Elks No. 642.

He was the beloved husband of Arlene A. (Binda) Dotoli; dear and devoted father of Michael C. Dotoli and his wife, Gail, of Saugus, Paul Dotoli and his late wife, Beverly, of Malden, Cheryl Dotoli Brown of Malden, Laurie Orender and her husband, Joseph, of Wakefield and Christopher Dotoli of Melrose; brother of Joseph Dotoli of Melrose, Rose Marie Bruzzese and Patricia Stevenson, both of Everett; loving grandfather of Jason Dotoli, Jennifer Griffin, Joseph Orender, Michele Orender, Amanda Dotoli, Stephanie Dotoli, Alexandra Cordiner, Ralph Caracciolo, Kristen Caracciolo and the late Melissa LaCarbonara. He was the loving great grandfather of Kayley LaCarbonara.

His Funeral will be held from the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St., (Corner of Main Street) Everett, Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Broadway, Everett, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are today, Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Memorial contributions to the Massachusetts General Hospital, c/o the Radiology Department, 55 Fruit St., Boston, MA 02114 would be sincerely appreciated.

 

Richard Brown

Malden resident

Richard T. Brown of Malden, formerly of Peabody, died on November 7. He was 92 years old.

A member of the Mt. Vernon-Galiliean Lodge A.F.& A.M., he was the husband of the late Dorothy L. (Soper) Brown; beloved father of Carolann Cavicchio and her husband, Anthony, of Malden; dear brother of Evelyn DeSimone of North Carolina and the late George, Hayward, James, William, and Dorothy Brown. He is also lovingly survived by two grandchildren, Staci-Ann Herlihy, Wendy Cassetta and her husband, Harry, and one great-grandson, Anthony Cassetta.

His Funeral will be held from the William R. Carafa & Son Home For Funerals, 389 Washington Ave. Chelsea on Thursday, November 12 at 10 a.m. followed by a Holy Eucharist Service at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 201 Washington Avenue, Chelsea at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours at the funeral home are today, Wednesday, from 3 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Everett. Terrance ‘Terry’ Marchino

Founder of Rockafeller’s Restaurant in Salem, member of Everett K of C

Terrance “Terry” Marchino, a long time resident of Medford, died at home on November 6. He was 74 years old.

Born in Somerville and a retired freight handler for the B&M Railroad, he was the founding owner of Rockafella’s Restaurant in Salem and a member of Knights of Columbus, No. 97 of Everett.

He was the beloved husband of Teresa (Valeri) Marchino for more than 46 years, the dear and devoted father of Lisa McKillop and her husband, Dave, of Medford and Kevin Marchino and his wife, Georgia, of Wakefield; loving “Papa” of David, Teresa, Matthew and Anthony McKillop and Max and Danika Marchino.

Rita F. (Scaramalla) Cericola of Arlington, formerly of East Boston, died on November 6.

She was the beloved wife of Armand Cericola; devoted mother of Rita Jean Giacobelli and her husband, Vincent, of Medford, Richard Cericola of Maui, HI, Lorraine Cericola and her husband, Ahmed Orchi, of Everett; loving grandmother of Robert and Gina Giacobelli, Ellissa and Miguel Cericola, and Jamil Orchi; sister of Dorothy Pescione of Stoneham and Ralph Scaramalla of East Boston.

Ione (DeBenedictis) Rosatone of Somerville, formerly of Prezza, Italy, died on November 4.

She was the beloved wife of Fernando Rosatone; devoted mother of Frank Rosatone of Malden, Linda Chapman of Norwell, Evelina Glynn of Melrose, Luigi Rosatone of Woburn, Anthony Rosatone of Everett, and the late Linda Rosatone; loving grandmother of Amanda and Sarah Rosatone, Abigail Chapman, Jason and Jessica Glynn, George and Charlotte Rosatone; sister of Peppino DeBenedictis of Medford and Livia DeBenedictis of Italy.

Katherine (Soule) Pestana of Saugus, formerly of Everett, died on November 5.

Mrs. Pestana was a Dues Collector for Teamsters Local 25 for more than 25 years.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert; devoted aunt of Thomas Soule and daughter of the late Margaret Soule; sister of Ernie Soule of Everett, Marianne Schiavo of Methuen, Lillian Bodor of Naples FL, Douglas Soule of Everett, Susan Drake of Stoneham, John Soule, Christine Bailey and Thomas Soule, all of Everett and the late Stanley. She was the loving niece of Catherine Mower of Maine. She also leaves many other loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

Lena L. (Trigilio) Gulla of Everett died on November 5.

She was the loving mother of Joseph and James Gulla and the late John Gulla; beloved sister of Maria S. Sabbato, Julie Marciano and Joseph Trigilio and his wife, Phyllis, and is also survived by one loving granddaughter, Sarah Gulla.

Elizabeth M. (Gardner) Addonizio of Peabody died on November 6.

She was the beloved wife for 19 years of Nicholas Addonizio Jr.; loving mother of Victoria and Austin Addonizio and her step daughter, Nicole Grimes, and her husband, Bill. She was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Beatrice Gardner and is also survived by two loving grandchildren, Brandon and Ava.

Leonard C. Tamasi of Lynnfield died on November 4.

He was the beloved husband of 49 years to Dorothy C. (Pedulla); loving father of Michael Tamasi and his wife, Susan, of Canton, Steven Tamasi and his wife, Mary, of Winchester and Nancy Hunter and her husband, David, of Reading; brother of Lucy DeVincenzo of Everett and Yolanda Fabrizio of Saugus; grandfather of Matthew, Christopher, Andrea, Jack, Peter and Stephanie Tamasi and Samantha and Cole Hunter; loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Joseph T. “Joey” Visconti of Revere, formerly of Everett, died on October 31.

He was the loving son of Victoria (Visconti) and Kenneth Messina; loving brother of David and Annamaria and is also survived by his loving wife, Stephanie King, and their loving son, Joseph K. Visconti. He was the loving grandson of Ann (Catalano) and Joseph A. Visconti Jr., the loving nephew of Ralph and Lisa, Nick and Christine and beloved Godson of Roslyn Catalano.

Michael Laezza

Everett resident

Michael R. Laezza of Everett, formerly of the North End of Boston, died on November 5.

A US Army veteran of World War II, he was a life member of the Brighton Lodge of Elks, BPOE.

The beloved son of the late Carmine Laezza and Josephine (Ragazza), he was the dear and devoted brother of Dolores M. Andreotti and her husband, Joseph, of Everett, Anthony Laezza of the North End and the late Rose DeCristoforo, Angelo Laezza and Peter Laezza; loving uncle of Rocco Andreotti, Carole Andreotti Ragucci and Paul Andreotti and loving great-uncle of Chantal, Christina, Joshua, Ashley, Cara and Ava Rose.

Jennie Thompson

Everett resident

Jennie (Mortelliti) Thompson of Everett died on November 5.

She was the beloved wife of Harold F.; loving sister of Josephine Lavita, Mildred Hopkins and the late Pauline Olson and Frank Mortelliti and is also survived by many loving nephews and nieces.

Barbara Leary

Of Middleton, formerly of Everett

Barbara P. (Winsor-Penney) Leary of Middleton, formerly of Everett, West Harwich, and Beverly Hills, FL, died on October 24. She was 83 years old.

An active volunteer for the Lions’ Club, she dedicated many hours to their charitable efforts. She had also been an active member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church, Harwichport,

She leaves a daughter and son-in-law, two grand-daughters, four great-grandchildren, a close extended family and many friends.

Robyn Cefalo

Everett resident

Robyn Cefalo, 41, of Everett, formerly of Chelsea, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2009, after a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of Patricia Cefalo of Everett and the late Arthur Cefalo.

Ms. Cefalo is lovingly survived by her son, Michael Scarpetti, of Everett; a sister, Catherine (Karas) Moore and nephew, Samuel Moore; three brothers, Michael Cefalo and his wife, Sue, of North Carolina, Joseph Cefalo, of California, and Michael Karas and his wife, Tina, of South Boston; an aunt, Carol Sullivan, of Everett; an uncle, Robert Long, of Quincy; also by dear cousins and friends.

Ms. Cefalo was a graduate of Chelsea High School. She was noted for the many kindnesses that she extended to family and friends throughout her life. Ms. Cefalo liked to help the homeless, volunteering her time at a shelter in Boston.

“Robyn cared about her family and friends, and her son, Michael, was her beacon of light,” said her sister, Cathy. “Everybody loved Robyn’s smile.”

Ms. Cefalo’s son, Michael, wrote a beautiful remembrance of his mother. That heartfelt message appears on Facebook.

Visiting hours will be Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, Chelsea. Friends are kindly invited to pay their respects.
